Ya Playin' Yaself is from the LP Wrath Of The Math.

How Many Millionaires Are There in the World?

How many millionaires are there in the world today? It depends on what you mean by "millionaire". The Economist reports that there are two different "official" methods for determining who makes the cut. Capegemini, a financial consultancy, defines a millionaire as anyone with investable assets of $1 million or more – meaning that they actually have over a million dollars as that doesn't include the home in which they live, for instance. By this measure there are about 10 million millionaires on the planet, according to Capegemini and Merrill Lynch. Mega bank Credit Suisse uses a different definition, however, denoting anyone whose net assets exceed $1 million a millionaire. In those terms, there are 24.2 million millionaires on the planet – about 0.5% of the world's adult population, or more than the entire population of Australia. 41% of them live in the U.S., 10% in Japan and 3% in China.

Is Coca-Cola An Alcoholic Drink?

Coca-Cola - the world's most popular soft drink, enjoyed by billions of all ages across the globe could have alcohol in it? No way; it couldn't be... could it?

Well, as recently reported in this article by Yahoo! News, a US radio show stumbled across Coke's well-guarded secret recipe within a publication which came out in 1979. Here it is:

  • Fluid extract of Coca 3 drams USP
  • Citric acid 3 oz
  • Caffeine 1oz
  • Sugar 30
  • Water 2.5 gal
  • Lime juice 2 pints 1 qrt
  • Vanilla 1oz
  • Caramel 1.5oz or more to colour

7X flavor:
  • Alcohol 8oz
  • Orange oil 20 drops
  • Lemon oil 30 drops
  • Nutmeg oil 10 drops
  • Coriander 5 drops
  • Neroli 10 drops
  • Cinnamon 10 drops
Thought to be the original concoction, Coca-Cola Company has modified the contents of its drink since its birth in 1886. Current versions of Coca-Cola's list of ingredients look like the one in the image below:

Cool - alcohol's not there on the list of ingredients! Phew... As many of you may already know, alcohol is "haraam", or forbidden by Allah [God]. The last deliverance of His message to us, The Qur'an mentions of how all things have both a level of benefit and detriment attached to them. Where alcohol is concerned, the detriment outweighs the benefit so much that He advises us not to indulge in it for our own good; as the following Qur'an quote explains:

"Shaitan (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from As-Salat (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?"

(Surah 5: Al-Maa'idah (The Table Spread With Food); verse 91)

Not every single component has to be listed on a product's packaging; thus no sign of alcohol's presence. The argument for it being contained within the drink is that it could be used in extracting a product's natural flavour from itself; in this case it would be using diluted alcohol (of about 20% in concentration/strength) to help extract coca flavour from [already decocainized] coca leaves. This extraction process results in a coca-flavoured fluid being made (the first ingredient listed in the "original recipe"). Alcohol would fall under the umbrella of the "natural flavours" ingredient, due to its catalyst-like style usage in obtaining the coca flavour. On a side-note but just as important is the use of glycerin; a natural, colourless, odourless, viscous liquid which is sweet in taste. It can be found within vegetable oils, and animal fats - such as that of a pig (again as you may already know, consumption of pig meat is also forbidden by God).

Coca-Cola Company states that their entire catalogue of drinks are non-alcoholic, and are recognised as such in every country where their products are sold.

If Coca-Cola does really contain alcohol; then it would really be one of the biggest scandals, not just in the food and drinks industry, but across the board. This drink is so embedded into cultures worldwide as a tasty and refreshing drink - but having already been saddled with controversy surrounding its make-up such as its high sugary content, caffeine intake issues and the legendary cocaine-related "myth" - to now be suspected of having alcohol within could see the downfall of the drink we all "enjoy".

AYTD's Qur'an Quote #45

"And if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry (other) women of your choice, two or three, or four but if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one or (the captives and the slaves) that your right hands possess. That is nearer to prevent you from doing injustice. "

(Surah 4: An-Nisaa' (The Women); verse 3)

AYTD's Qur'an Quote #44

"Forbidden to you (for marriage) are: your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father's sisters, your mother's sisters, your brother's daughters, your sister's daughters, your foster mother who gave you suck, your foster milk suckling sisters, your wives' mothers, your step daughters under your guardianship, born of your wives to whom you have gone in - but there is no sin on you if you have not gone in them (to marry their daughters), - the wives of your sons who (spring) from your own loins, and two sisters in wedlock at the same time, except for what has already passed; verily, Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful."

(Surah 4: An-Nisaa' (The Women); verse 23)

AYTD's Qur'an Quote #43

"And marry those among you who are single (i.e. a man who has no wife and the woman who has no husband) and (also marry) the Salihun (pious, fit and capable ones) of your (male) slaves and maid-servants (female slaves). If they be poor, Allah will enrich them out of His Bounty. And Allah is All-Sufficent for His creatures\' needs, All-Knowing (about the state of the people)."

(Surah 24: An-Noor (The Light); verse 32)

Markets! Finance! Scandal! Yep; It's Time For "The Keiser Report"

Courtesy of Russia Today; comes forth a stripped down, no-nonsense outlook on current events within the business and financial sectors across the world. Max Keiser, a former stockbroker come media presenter on both television and radio, as well as blogger for US newspaper The Huffington Post - delivers a comical approach to exposing the downright fraudulent and extremely criminal procedures taking place by the bosses of major global banking institutions (i.e. Lloyd Blankfein, Jamie Dimon...) and bosses in charge of central banks (Tim Geithner, Ben Bernanke, Henry Paulsen, Mervyn King...).

The Keiser Report is a great show for introducing how the value of money (both fiat paper money ----- aka FAKE "money" and gold and silver ----- REAL "money" to trade/barter with), commodities (natural resources, materials etc) and the growth/shrinking of industries affects a countries' economy and more importantly; our quality of life. Usually split into two parts; the show first gives some headlines in bite-size chunks which is delivered with assisstance from financial commentator Stacy Herbert; then in the second half focuses on featuring a story in more detail.

Below is the latest edition; which talks about "fake rice", Iceland apparently recently discovering the idea called capitalism (lol) and Head Of Commodities for JPMorgan, Blythe Masters; whom is responsible for infiltrating the concept of credit default swaps into the financial market. AYTD thought it be a good idea to also show the previous edition also; as it talks of Facebook's deal with Goldman Sachs, and the [planned] downfall of investment bank Bear Stearns through selling worthless "mortgage securities" to clients (such as smaller high-street level banks), and even to many of their own employees - oh dear.
