21 August 2013 - Present
Ghouta region, Damascus, Syria
The World is on tenterhooks as it anticipates the almost inevitable decision from the Western nations (most notably the US, UK & France) to take military action against the Syrian government in retaliation to the totally abhorrent atrocities of chemical weapons being inflicted on innocent civilians in Damascus, killing over 350 people and injuring about 3,600. Chief members of the Allied administrations point the finger directly at Syria's President, Bashar al-Assad and the country's "regime" for committing these harrowing acts. The Syrian government has denied any use of chemical weapons, blaming rebel fighters instead.
The West are pushing the chemical weapons' usage together with the humanitarian angles as its legal basis for intervening in Syria - it can't take the "regime change" route as according to the UN Charter it is illegal for a sovereign nation to take over or replace the ruler(s) of another (please see Article II, paragraph IV). Russia and China are strongly against taking an aggressive stance against the Syrian government - as are millions of sane people the World over, many of whom protest that the civil war in the country needs to end now and for peace to prevail in the area.
The UN have inspectors currently in Syria investigating the recent events, and will report its findings in the next couple of days. It's core objective is to determine whether chemical weapons were indeed used in these attacks or not; it will not establish who is behind it be it Assad's "regime", the NWO-backed opposition rebels, or some other entity altogether. Meanwhile, governments in the West are already discussing whether to take military action in the Middle East based on their own independent intelligence (which will also be publicly disclosed shortly) which confirms Assad's "regime" as the perpetrators.
We all know what's really going on here; Syria is just the latest of a long line of nuisances that are blocking the New World Order from creating their one world government - a single fascist and dictatorial global system where a handful of people have unequivocal control over everyone else. Humanity is reduced to a gloomy predicament of doing what its told or facing painful consequences. These few sellouts themselves are serving their master... You know who...
WARNING; Some of the following images are extremely graphic. Viewer discretion is advised.
"We have been very clear to the Assad regime, but also to other players on the ground, that a red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or being utilized...That would change my calculus. That would change my equation."
''What we've seen indicates clearly this is a big event, of grave concern, and we are already in communications with the entire international community... Sometimes what we've seen is that folks will call for immediate action, jumping into stuff, that does not turn out well, gets us mired in very difficult situations, can result in us being drawn into very expensive, difficult, costly interventions that actually breed more resentment in the region... I have no interest in any kind of open-ended conflict in Syria...'' -
Barack Obama, US President
"...No doubt who was responsible for this heinous use of chemical weapons in Syria: the Syrian regime...Those who use chemical weapons against defenceless men, women and children should and must be held accountable" -
Joe Biden, US Vice President
"What we saw in Syria last week should shock the conscience of the world. It defies any code of morality, Make no mistake, President Obama believes there must be accountability for those who would use the world's most heinous weapons against the world's most vulnerable people... Instead it attacked the area further, shelling it and systematically destroying evidence. That is not the behaviour of a government that has nothing to hide. The regime's belated decision to allow access is too late and is too late to be credible," -
John Kerry, US Secretary Of State
"What we have seen in Syria are appalling scenes of death and suffering because of the use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime, I don't believe we can let that stand..." -
David Cameron, UK Prime Minister
(there are no Nick Clegg quotes here on this matter, due to his irrelevance in this Universe.)
"This is the first use of chemical warfare in the 21st Century, it has to be unacceptable, We have to confront something that is a war crime... I know that some people in the world would like to say that this is some kind of conspiracy brought about by the opposition in Syria, think the chances of that are vanishingly small and so we do believe that this is a chemical attack by the Assad regime... It seems the Assad regime has something to hide - Why else have they not allowed the UN team to go there?" -
William Hague, UK Foreign Secretary
Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria
"They said the Syrian forces were the ones who carried out this attack. I deny this utterly and completely to [US Secretary of State John] Kerry... We have two options: either to surrender, or to defend ourselves with the means at our disposal, The second choice is the best: we will defend ourselves," -
Walid al-Muallen, Syrian Foreign Minister
"If Damascus comes under attack, Tel Aviv will be targeted too and a full-scale war against Syria will actually issue a license for attacking Israel... Rest assured that if Syria is attacked, Israel will also be set on fire and such an attack will, in turn, engage Syria's neighbors... Therefore, weakening the central government in Damascus will actually start growing attacks on Israel and will create insecurity for that regime... Thus, a U.S. attack on Syria will herald frequent strikes and attacks on Israel, not just by Damascus and its allies in retaliation, but by extremist groups who will find a ground for staging their aspirations" -
Senior Syrian Army Official
"The use of force without the approval of the United Nations Security Council is a very grave violation of international law," -
Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister
"...there is little serious dispute that chemical attacks causing mass casualties on a larger scale than hitherto (including, we judge, at least 350 fatalities) took place... It is being claimed, including by the regime, that the attacks were either faked or undertaken by the Syrian Armed Opposition... There is no credible intelligence or other evidence to substantiate the claims or the possession of CW [chemical weapons] by the opposition. The JIC has therefore concluded that there are no plausible alternative scenarios to regime responsibility... the JIC concluded that it is highly likely that the regime was responsible for the CW attacks on 21 August." -
